What Are Your Wild Ass Goals?

Here’s a secret about me. My favorite kind of goals make me go “oh wow”.

Here’s another secret about me. I quite frequently bite off more than I can chew when it comes to life decisions.

I think that there are goals and then there are Wild Ass Goals. A WAG is a goal that is so big that it scares you a little.

Each day we have the opportunity to re-write our story. Each day we have a chance to be brave, be fearless and do something a little bit unexpected.

WAG’s  allow yourself to dream for a bit. Essentially you’re giving yourself permission to choose the life that you want.

The creative part of our brain is frequently shut off when we are doing very serious, pragmatic things like financial planning. By letting your brain run wild with a WAG you let yourself get creative and tune in to what you really want.

One of the worksheets that I have in my “financial organizer” is a WAG goal worksheet sheet. I ask my clients to write down what their short term (less than 6 month) WAG’s are and their long term WAG’s are.

This gets the creative juices flowing and allows them to align their dreams with the practical side of finances.

When was the last time you allowed yourself to dream for a bit and really get excited about a WAG?
